As a member of CEMAC, Gabon is subject to the common external tariff (CET) for its trade with third countries and to the generalized preferential tariff for intra-community trade.

However, the CET is only applicable to imports; for exports, Gabon is free to set its exit duty. As such, manganese, gold and processed wood are the only products subject to exit duties at the following rates 3% for manganese and gold; 7.50%, 3% or 0%, depending on the level of processing, for wood.
